When the aircraft is loaded in a ‘Cold and Dark’ or ‘Turnaround’ state, the Flight Control Lock will be engaged with the control column in the fully forward position.
When the Flight Control Lock is engaged, the ailerons are mechanically locked in the neutral position, the elevator is locked in the control column forward position, and a throttle lock prevents the selection of takeoff thrust.
To disengage the Flight Control Lock, move the Flight Control Lock lever on the aft side of the pedestal to the OFF (down) position. The control column will then return to the neutral position, and full and free movement of the flight controls and throttles will be possible.
To engage the Flight Control Lock, push and hold the control column in the fully forward position, and move the Flight Control Lock lever on the aft side of the pedestal to the ON (up) position. The control column will lock in the fully forward position, and the throttle lock will be engaged.
