The F70 Professional and F100 Professional feature a comprehensive Pilot Callout and Cabin Announcement system. These announcements are automatically triggered at the appropriate phases of flight based on various parameters, including altitude, airspeed and aircraft state, greatly enhancing immersion by replicating real-world flight deck and cabin audio cues.

Both Pilot Callouts and Cabin Announcements are enabled by default. They can be disabled individually by unticking the CABIN ANNOUNCEMENTS and PILOT CALLOUTS options in the Configuration Menu on the EFB Aircraft page.

The following sections list the conditions that must be met during each stage of flight for the corresponding pilot callouts to trigger.

PHASE OF FLIGHT DETECTION

The triggering of announcements and pilot callouts is based on the system’s ability to detect the aircraft’s current phase of flight, which is determined by the following factors:

  • DC ESS bus powered
  • Beacon lights switched ON
  • Ground speed greater than 0.3 knots or GSX pushback triggered
  • Parking brakes released
  • Chocks removed
  • Cabin doors closed

CABIN ANNOUNCEMENTS

The following is a list of cabin-related announcements available in the F70 Professional and F100 Professional, including their triggers:

 "BOARDING IS COMPLETE"

    Playback conditions

  • If boarding is completed with the cockpit door still open, the “Boarding is complete” announcement will be made immediately, simulating the crew making the call through the open door.
  • If the cockpit door is closed (locked or unlocked), then the cabin crew will use the forward cabin handset to call the cockpit. The FWD call light on the overhead will illuminate, accompanied by a buzzer sound.
  • If the ‘F/O HANDLES INTPH’ option (EFB aircraft app > configuration menu) is enabled, the F/O will respond by pressing the cabin interphone button (F/O audio panel - centre pedestal). If the option is disabled, then the user needs to press the cabin interphone button (Captain or F/O audio panel).
  • After a couple of seconds, the cabin crew will make the “Boarding is complete” announcement via the interphone.
  • After five seconds, the cabin crew will cancel the FWD call light if not already done by the user via the RESET calls button. If the ‘F/O HANDLES INTPH’ option is enabled, the F/O will deselect the cabin interphone buttons. If the option is disabled, then the user needs to do that manually.

"CABIN IS SECURE" (TAKEOFF)

    Playback conditions

  • ‘Cabin crew, please take your seats for takeoff’ callout has played (manually or automatically as described above)

    or

  • ‘Cabin crew, please take your seats for takeoff’ has not yet been played
  • AUTO CABIN CREW enabled on EFB tablet aircraft app
  • ‘Arm doors’ callout has played
  • Aircraft has moved off stand (pushback or self-manoeuvred)
  • 5 to 8 minutes have elapsed since the doors have been armed, or the PILOT call button has been manually pressed on any of the cabin crew handsets

     Sequence

  • 15 seconds after being triggered, the cabin crew will use the forward cabin handset to call the cockpit.
  • After a couple of seconds, the cabin crew will make the “Cabin is secured (take-off)”, announcement via the interphone.
