Custom External Equipment Configurations
The F70 Professional and F100 Professional feature toggleable external and internal equipment that livery artists can configure on a per-livery basis via a livery equipment configuration .ini file. The .ini file is intended to be distributed with a livery package, and if users wish to install it, they can do so simply by dragging and dropping the .ini into the necessary folder.
Instructions for how livery artists can create a custom external equipment configuration .ini file for your liveries are listed below:
1. Download the F70F100_livery_configuration_template.ini file from the following link:
2. Open the file in a text editor (e.g. Notepad or Notepad++).
3. On line 1, replace the [F70F100 Livery Configuration Template] text with the name of the livery. We would recommend using the livery’s “Title=” entry in the aircraft.cfg, although any text is acceptable.
4. On lines 2-4, input “0” or “1” after the “=” symbol on each line to enable/disable each piece of equipment. For example, “hasLogo=0” will disable the logo lights from the outboard flap track fairings. “hasLogo=1” will enable them.
5. Save the .ini file with a file name that exactly matches the text from the livery’s Title= entry in the aircraft.cfg. IMPORTANT! The file name of the .ini file must exactly match the Title= line in the liveries aircraft.cfg file. If these fields do not exactly match, the equipment configuration will load in a default state.
6. The file is now ready to be distributed with your created livery.
Instructions for how the livery equipment configuration .ini file can be installed are listed below:
1. Download a livery package and its corresponding livery equipment configuration .ini file from your preferred third-party distributor.
2. Drag and drop the livery package into your Community folder.
3. Drag and drop the livery equipment configuration .ini file into the aircraft’s ‘work’ folder. The location of this folder varies depending on the aircraft and version of MSFS used (see all possible 'work' folder locations below).
4. Launch the simulator and load a flight in the newly installed livery. The livery will have the equipment configuration as set by the livery creator.
