Yes it is. Aircraft use Mach number above certain altitudes, not indicated airspeed ( knots ) as the air is thinner up there. 500 knots at 45,000ft is around Mach 2.
I’m at high altitude and I’m only seeing 500 knots! This isn’t Mach 2!
