The F28 Professional support the MSFS 2024 walkaround mode with a variety of interactive areas on the exterior of the aircraft.
MSFS 2024 walkaround mode can be entered via one of the following methods:
- Triggering the ‘TAKE CONTROL OF CHARACTER’ control assignment whilst inside the aircraft will toggle walkaround mode. By default, this is assigned to [SHIFT] + [C] on keyboard and [LB] + [B] on Xbox controller. Triggering this again will return you inside the aircraft.
- With the Passenger Door (L1) fully open, clicking an area in the open doorway will toggle walkaround mode.
- Starting a flight at a gate (in a cold and dark state) will spawn your character outside of the aircraft in walkaround mode.
The following areas on the exterior feature interactable elements:
- Chocks/Cones – Click on either of the main landing gear wheels to enable/disable chocks and cones.
- GPU – Click on the external power door (labelled “EXT POWER”) located on the starboard side of the aircraft’s nose, to enable/disable the Ground Power Unit. Note: After being disabled, the GPU will not disappear until fully shut down.
- Passenger Door (L1): To open the door, click the external door handle to move it to the UNLOCK position and then click the door controls cover to extend the door. To close the door, ensure the external door handle is in the UNLOCK position, click the door controls cover to retract the door, and then click the external door handle to move it to the LOCKED position.
- Service Door (R1): Click the door handle to move it to the OPEN position, and the door will slide inward and up. Click the door handle again to slide down and out, and the handle will return to the CLOSED position.
- Cargo Doors: Click on the cargo door handle in the centre of a door to open. Click on the red/white striped door strut to close.
Note: Walkaround mode is an MSFS 2024 native feature. It is not available in MSFS 2020.
